I have engaged in controlling the quality and process of our products as well as the quantity surveying for electrical facility installation works.
As the method of quantity surveying varies from operation to operation depending on the purpose, I occasionally visit client companies and explain the difference in methods like a teacher.
Involved with each property project from the start, I ensure in-house coordination of the work process and workers’ thorough understanding of the purpose of relevant operations, and confirm the progress with each project and check the product. In addition, I am devoted to my daily duties in order to offer products that meet clients’ demand while supervising the overall quantity surveying operation for electrical services.
Although I hoped, at first, to work in the field of architectural design, I got attracted with quantity surveying because I can obtain opportunities of handling multifarious drawings with different scales and purposes of use in a shorter period of time spent on one property than design. Furthermore, the fact that we can arrive at a certain answer as long as we comply with the rules of quantity surveying, which I learned in a class of quantity surveying in my school days, is another reason why I started to have interest in the field.
I was exposed to the close relationship between the management and the employees, and the company’s homely atmosphere during my visit to SANTEC, which made me strongly feel like joining the company.
Our company’s business of quantity survey is required in each stage of a construction project. Because we calculate “work costs” as the culmination of the stages, I feel that we are entrusted with an important task as if we were running as a relay anchor.
Furthermore, our company has been recognized as a pioneer in the field of mechanical and electrical quantity surveying in the industry, and therefore, we have been entrusted with various projects, including national projects and large-scale ones published in newspapers, which I have found rewarding.
Taking advantage of my experiences in the quantity surveying services, I would like to broaden my knowledge so that I can make a variety of proposals, from the perspective of quantity surveying, for VE and cost reduction with maintenance and management kept in mind, and subsidy-related projects.
Quantity surveying is a group work, which we can call a team sports, since a wide range of tasks, including quantity calculation and establishment of the basis for unit prices, are divided into each team member for yielding the estimation product under the supervision of the main person in charge of relevant property.
In our company, objectives are set for each worker according to their capabilities; for instance, the goal of those who have no or little experience is to increase what they can do step by step, while the objective of experienced workers is to become able to coordinate and supervise various tasks.
There are a lot to learn, such as technical terms and rules of quantity surveying, but let’s hone your skills together with us by continuing small efforts and “accomplishments.”
