In Europe and the United States, Quantity Surveyors (QS) play a vital role across every stage of a construction project\u2014from planning to completion and even demolition\u2014earning a well-established and respected position. Their commitment to fair, impartial, and transparent costing has long supported clients in making informed decisions. Observing this culture, I have often hoped that the profession of cost estimation in Japan would someday receive similar recognition.<\/span><\/p>\n

In recent years, new procurement methods have emerged in both public and private sectors, accompanied by growing expectations for greater transparency in construction costs. As a result, service models such as Construction Management (CM) and Project Management (PM) have begun to gain traction.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nAt the same time, Building Information Modeling (BIM) continues to spread throughout the industry, demonstrating its powerful capabilities across various stages of construction projects and driving significant transformation within the cost estimation field.<\/span><\/p>\n
